SALMON FISHING IN YEMEN
(PG-13) 112min
May 11 - 14, 5:30 and 8:00;
Monday 5:15 only
Whimsical and offbeat, this smart romantic comedy from director Lasse Hallström (Cider House Rules, Chocolat) tells the story, adopted from Paul Torday’s debut novel by Simon Beaufoy (127 Hours, Slumdog Milionaire), of a wealthy sheik (Amr Waked) from Yemen who loves to fly fish in Scotland who directs his investment consultant to create an opportunity for people to participate in this activity in his home country. Ewan MaGregor plays the skeptical fisheries biologist drafted to make it happen, after the prime minister’s Press Secretary (Kirstin Scott Thomas) decides this would make a wonderful diversion to all the war news.
