With lowkey fantasy and trademark offbeat characters, inimitable indie veteran director Jim Jarmusch celebrates creativity with this charming story about a focused city bus driver (Adam Driver, Silence) named Paterson who works in the city of Paterson, NJ. His life has a predictable routine; the same daily route, a walk with the dog, one drink at the local bar. He uses observations and the banal events of his day as inspiration for his poetry which he pens neatly into his small notebook. His loving and beloved wife (Golshifteh Farahani, About Elly) is, alternately, rather impulsive, a restless artist who loves everything in black and white and has a new plan every day. This quirky and fascinating film weaves a rich tapestry that delights in the ordinary.
