Charming and unforgettable, this whimsical and emotion-filled stop-motion animation, one of this year's Oscar-nominated animated films, is the debut feature from Swiss filmmaker Claude Barras. Adapted from a French YA novel, a nine year-old, blue-haired boy, nick-named Zucchini by his alcoholic mother, takes only an empty beer can along with his name, to the foster home where he moves after she is accidentally killed. In this honest and compassionate story, the boy navigates the social scene of his new surroundings, a home full of other kids from troubled pasts. The English language cast (in the early screenings) includes Will Forte, Amy Sedaris, Nick Offerman, and Ellen Page.
