May 18 - 21, Sat 5/19 5pm incl Filmmaker Skype Q&A Sun 5/20 6:30pm
Shipped thousands of miles away from their home in Hawaii, two native Hawaiians, shipped to a private prison in the Arizona desert, discover their indigenous traditions from a fellow inmate. When their terms are finished and they return to Hawaii, they are hoping for a fresh start and eager to prove to themselves and to their families that this experience has changed them forever. In this award-winning documentary that asks the question: can you really go home again?, the struggles of these two complex characters over the hurdles faced in their lives as formerly incarcerated are universal in nature. Director Ciara Lacy will join us (via skype) after the Sat 5pm screening for Q&A.
