This impressive debut feature from new director Ofir Raul Graizer tells the story of Thomas, a German pastry chef whose bakery and bed were always a stop for married Israeli planner Oren when he’d travel to Berlin on business. One day he doesn’t arrive as planned, and the baker learns that he’s died in an accident. He travels to Jerusalem to seek answers and infiltrates himself into the life of his lover’s widow, a café owner, far more than he anticipated and with unexpected consequences. This affecting story with delectable scenes of pastry-making is a restrained character study about the power of love.
